NH3/CO2 Leakage Switch in Strainer Housing
HBAC-ST is used for detecting leakage in cascade systems. The sensor triggers an alarm if there is a CO2 leak in the NH3 part. A leak results in several hours of cleaning the pipes and heat exchanger. If a CO2 leak occurs in the NH3 part, salt crystals are formed. These salt crystals are very corrosive and lead to clogging of the parts. If the leak is not stopped in time, it can lead to extensive damage to the heat exchanger, pipes, and pump.
The sensor detects even very small leaks.
For plate heat exchangers an HBAC sensor in strainer housing can be specified for detecting ammonia carbamate. An alarm setting in the sensor will provide a digital output, when ammonia carbamate is detected, alternatively the analog output can provide the same information to a PLC as a high mA signal. The HBAC sensor in strainer housing can be supplied with a filter on request. The sensor can also be combined with a vapor quality sensor function for optimal control of the plate heat exchanger.
